Art Galleries

Allied Arts
Since 1979 Allied Arts of Whatcom County has provided extensive opportunities for working artists, craftspeople and performers to interact directly with members of the community.

Bergsma Art Gallery
As a little girl, Jody Bergsma had nightmares. Her mother comforted her by telling her that if she painted them, they would no longer scare her. Her childish monsters, dragons and wide-eyed children, set the stage for her future work; paintings that often had their origins in her dreams.

Chuckanut Bay Gallery
Over the past twelve years, the gallery has evolved into a destination shopping experience featuring, outdoor illuminated sculpture garden with water features, and comprehensive crafts gallery representing over 300 Northwest artists.

Western Washington University Gallery
In 1938 the Western Gallery began as the Studio Gallery, College of Education. In 1950 the Western Gallery was moved to the 2nd Floor of the Fine Arts Building when this new building opened. In the late 1980s a wing for the new Western Gallery was added to the Fine Arts Building. The admission is free and the public is encouraged to come and see the future of art.

Festivals

Downtown Gallery Walks
Gallery Walks are a festive time when participating business owners keep their doors open from 7 to 10 pm to showcase an array of artwork by local and renowned visiting artists.

Bellingham Festival of Music
For over 14 seasons, the Festival has presented 175 concerts with renowned artists and musical performances at the highest artistic level by nationally and internationally musicians in a concentrated festival format.? 
The Festival has been dubbed by Arts & Entertainment Television as the ?Premier Northwest Summer Music Festival?.

Deming Logging Show
In 1962, the first Deming Logging Show took place in a field outside of Deming. The Deming Logging Show is a non-profit organization. The purpose is to help injured loggers and their families in times of need. Forty-three years later the Deming Logging Show is still going strong. There are more things to do and see today than in the past. From new events and logging exhibits, to machinery and logging trucks. Every year gets better and better.

Museums

American Museum of Radio and Electricity
The American Museum of Radio and Electricity links the scientific exploration of the phenomenon called ?electricity? with the development of radio into its Golden Age. Compelling, interactive exhibits spanning three centuries of scientific achievement and cultural heritage feature a world-class collection of unique objects?and our exciting education programs bring their stories alive.

Bellingham Railway Museum
The Bellingham Railway Museum features a number of model railroad layouts in several scales. These include display layouts, interactive exhibits where visitors to the museum can actually run the trains, and a floor layout for the kids to play with. The BRM believes that model railroading is both an important part of railroad history, and also an excellent vehicle for communicating the history of railroads to the public.

Heritage Flight Museum
The primary focus of the HFM is on US Army Air Corps and US Air Force vintage "Warbirds": fighters, trainers, and liaison aircraft. Additionally, the HFM will displays highlighting elements of the US Space Program, mainly the Apollo program.

Lynden Pioneer Museum
The Lynden Pioneer Museum is the preeminent center of history and heritage in Northern Whatcom County. It is the place people come first to discover and link themselves to the heritage of Whatcom County communities.

Whatcom County Museum of History and Art
Whatcom Museum of History & Art is a non-profit organization, operated jointly by the City of Bellingham and the Whatcom Museum Society. The Museum is accredited nationally by the American Association of Museums. 
The Whatcom Museum campus is composed of four buildings, featuring exhibitions of contemporary art and regional history, as well as an award-winning Children?s Museum. The Museum?s collection holds more than 200,000 artifacts of regional importance, including a vast photographic archive. 

Orchestra

Whatcom Symphony Orchestra
The Whatcom Symphony Orchestra is dedicated to enhancing the cultural and artistic life of our community, and offers people of all ages and backgrounds the opportunity to experience live symphonic music. 

Theater

Bellingham Theatre Guild
Founded in 1929, The Bellingham Theatre Guild is one of the oldest continuously running theatres on the West Coast. Follow the links to the right and enjoy a look back at the magic that's happened over the years on the Guild stage.

Mount Baker Theatre
The Mount Baker Theater has been a community landmark since 1927. Since then it has provided arts, entertainment, and social interaction for the public. The theatre has a wide variety of programs that all ages can enjoy.

Outdoor Theaters
Bellingham is home to several outdoor theaters that regularly show movies outdoors. Go to their home page to see a list of upcoming events.

The Up Front Theater
Established by Ryan Stiles, The Upfront Theatre opened its doors August 13, 2004. The 85 seat cabaret style venue offers live improvisational comedy every Friday and Saturday evening. Performers from all over the northwest as well as local talent present many styles of improv comedy ranging from short form games to one act improvised plays, musicals and competitive improvisational.
